Mozambique is the 5th poorest country in the world, according to official reports from international organizations like IMF, UN, Forbes, among others.
Since 2019, it has been severely affected by Cyclone Idai, considered by the UN as one of the worst calamities in the Southern Hemisphere, affecting millions of people and leaving a trail of destruction and misery, with hundreds of thousands of families losing everything and becoming homeless, without access to clean water and living in rubble in subhuman conditions.
The disaster exacerbated an already critical situation in the central region of the country, which every year faces calamities caused by cyclones and floods.
In 2019, Tarik Mohallem moved to Africa with his family for a year to serve with a social enterprise to help those displaced by the cyclone, creating the Hope for Mozambique Institute.
With the collaboration of strategic partners, he founded a factory for eco-bricks (lower cost and superior technology compared to conventional bricks) and invested in training residents who had no professional qualifications or educational opportunities. Heads of families with no job prospects now work on building their own homes and those of many other families, creating a multiplier effect in the community. This way, the project provides them with conditions for professional work and stability, something previously unthinkable.
Through constant accountability and proof of correct resource utilization, along with before and after testimonies from each reached family giving emotional statements about the profound life transformation brought by the project, many partners joined due to the credibility and reputation earned by the delivered results, as well as partnerships with schools and churches.
Dignified housing, high-quality structure, ventilated, elevated against floods and cyclone-resistant.
In fact, in recent years, there have been new cyclones in the region, and all the houses built by the Hope for Mozambique Institute remained completely intact, serving as shelters not only for the residents but also for neighbors who lost their homes.
Within this semester, we aim to complete the construction of a full dining hall for the kindergarten in the Dondo District, for 200 children whose only meal of the day is the one they receive at school.
Now, the band Oficina G3 and Tarik have united to launch the G3 Village project, for families still homeless due to the calamity, bringing transformation through dignified housing and creating more than 50 direct jobs. To realize this dream, the amount is R$ 650,000.00 for the completion of the village with 20 houses, a community garden, and a playground for the children.

Half of the resources have already been raised, allowing us to move quickly and complete the first 4 phases of the project, with the successful delivery of 10 new houses!
Now we are seeking resources to complete the final phase of the project and deliver the next 10 houses to the families most in need, and we need partners to join us in this beautiful mission that will transform the lives of hundreds of people.
Together we can bring dignity, hope, and love to our Mozambican brothers and the next generations to come.

What good is it, my brothers, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? If a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food and one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
- James 2:14-17
